Outdoor Aquatic Science Investigation Session (OASIS)
Belle Isle Aquarium, Friday & Saturday, 10:30am or 11:30am, 30 minute sessions
Discover what a true OASIS Belle Isle really is! We are excited to offer free OASIS programs to the general public thanks to our friends at Ally Financial.
In these hands-on experiences, participants of any age can explore the aquatic life
within Belle Isle’s waters through water quality analysis, sample collection, and macroinvertebrate identification.

World Ocean Day Exhibition
Belle Isle Aquarium
Art and design are powerful ways to impact society and drive societal change due to their role in conveying human values and ideas, developing social, cultural, and individual identities, and offering innovative approaches to communication and dialogue around complex issues. This exhibition will highlight 17 artists from across Michigan and Ontario, using art and design as a voice in the climate action narrative for our Great Lakes region.

Community Yoga with Detroit Parks Coalition and Yoganic Flow

Detroit Parks Coalition (DPC) is partnering with Yoganic Flow to offer free community yoga at DPC member parks throughout the city.
Participate with us at the Belle Isle Aquarium on Thursdays @ 6pm, through August 31st. Classes are free and accessible to all ages and abilities; preregistration is recommended but not required. Click here to register.

Belle Isle Conservancy has partnered with Communities First to bring Movies Under the Stars back to Detroit! Enjoy a pre-party at 7:00pm with music, food and safe activities for all ages before the movie begins. Get comfortable by bringing a blanket or lawn chair! The second annual Community Fun Day at Belle Isle Aquarium, in collaboration with Detroit Parks Coalition's Freedom Arts Festival, will host an exciting afternoon of art, music, dance, storytelling, games & activities, food trucks, and more! This is a free program. No registration is required.

**Community Fun Day Call for Artists (PAID opportunity)**
Calling all performance artists ages 12+ to submit original works inspired by the theme Renaissance referring to the awakening occurring between society and the environment
in our Metro Detroit and Southeast Michigan communities. Artists should draw inspiration from the countless relationships between people and nature and among the elements themselves.
Artists must be available to perform between noon and 4:00 pm on Saturday, July 22, 2023. SUBMISSIONS DUE BY MIDNIGHT on JULY 9, 2023.
