The Belle Isle Conservancy, in partnership with our Natural Resources Committee, is excited to present our Species Spotlight series, focusing on the flora and fauna that can be found on the island. One of the reasons Belle Isle is so unique is because of the rare species that comprise an even more rare ecosystem in the park. Each month we will introduce you to a new species to enhance visitor engagement, whether your visiting Belle Isle or at home learning more about the natural habitat that surrounds the park.
