The Belle Isle Holiday Stroll has ushered in the holidays on Belle Isle for over 30 years with a schedule of family-friendly activities and performances across the island. Traditionally held on the second Friday evening of December, the Belle Isle Holiday Stroll will look different this year than it has in the past, but will continue to bring tidings of good cheer to Belle Isle this holiday season.
From December 4th - January 1st, we invite you to spark up your imaginations and take a guided audio tour of Belle Isle while you create your very own Belle Isle winter scenes with the accompanying Belle Isle Treasures coloring book. Click below to access the tour and printable coloring book PDF and make your way to the park! A limited number of physical copies of the book will be available from our partners at the Dossin Great Lakes Museum and Detroit Historical Museums, the Charles H. Wright Museum, and on-site at the Belle Isle Aquarium beginning on December 14th.
Happy strolling! Or shall we say, rolling!

One of the highlights of the annual Belle Isle Holiday Stroll is the delight of performances by many talented musicians from our community. Over the years, groups like the Wellspring Chorale, the Renaissance High School choirs, and The Urban Violinist Kym Brady, have performed for visitors. Sunset Point offers one of the best views of the city skyline. While you're enjoying the audio tour on the island, find the Big Frame at Sunset Point and capture the moment with the magnificent skyline as your backdrop!
Assist Michigan Conservation Officers and the Sargeant Santa Program in reaching their goal of collecting as many toys as it takes to fill the back of a conservation officer patrol truck for Detroit's children in need.
Grab your partner, family, or a small group of friends, hop in the car, and join the Belle Isle Conservancy and Dossin Great Lakes Museum in a Winter Holiday celebration known as the Belle Isle Road Rally! Your group will work together to solve clues related to key locations on Belle Isle, then travel to the locations to find answers to a few questions. Unlike a scavenger hunt, the road rally is not timed and relies on earning points. Event is December 18, 11am - 2pm.
Reminisce upon previous Holiday Strolls in which we could huddle together for warmth around the fire, give Santa our wishlist, wander the Conservatory under the glow of Christmas lights, and enjoy performances from local school choirs.,
For each of the 7 nights of Kwanzaa (beginning December 26th), the Charles H. Wright Museum will be celebrating the 7 principles of the holiday by streaming songs and dances, storytelling, poetry reading, and more to mark the occasion.
Thank you to Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan for their in-kind support of this event.
