On August 18, 1904 the Belle Isle Aquarium & Horticulture Building (Anna Scripps Whitcomb Conservatory) opened its doors. Today, the Aquarium holds the distinction of North America's Oldest Aquarium, and the Anna Scripps Whitcomb Conservatory is a world class horticultural center. These facilities welcome tens of thousands of visitors each year. Join us in celebrating the anniversary of the opening of two of Detroit's most iconic facilities.
