A Public-Private Partnership
The Belle Isle Conservancy works in close partnership with the City of Detroit. We bring new resources to Belle Isle – planning and funding improvements, providing extra hands to do work that the City cannot afford to do otherwise, being an advocate to protect the park, and marketing Belle Isle so that
everyone can enjoy it.

Do you like to work on projects where your time makes a difference? Do you have a special skill or expertise? Some volunteer opportunities are a single day, like planting daffodils in the fall or the Island Clean-up in the Spring. If you have more time and like to be outdoors, join our fight to contain invasive plant species that threaten the natural habitat. Do you like to plan events, or help to make them run smoothly? Give tours? Perhaps you have special expertise and could join one of the many committees that develop project plans and help us to evaluate ideas for park improvements. Whether you have a little time or a lot, we can use your help!
