On Friday, May 31, 2013 beginning at 6:00 p.m. with a VIP reception, the Belle Isle Conservancy (BIC) hosts the Grand Prixmiere party at DTE Energy’s Town Square in Detroit. Guests are invited to celebrate a weekend of races at Belle Isle Park. The Grand Prixmiere is the official launch party of the 2013 Chevrolet Detroit Belle Isle Grand Prix weekend, May 31-June 2, 2013.
VIP guests – sponsors and Winner’s Circle ticket holders – will enjoy a private cocktail reception and the chance to meet and mingle with Grand Prix drivers beginning at 6 p.m. Finish Line guests will join VIP guests for The General Cocktail Reception at 6:30 p.m.
At 7:30 pm, patrons will enjoy a gourmet dinner, entertainment and program. Guests will have a chance to learn what it takes to be a Grand Prix racer when ESPN/ABC IndyCar Reporter Jamie Little moderates a Q&A session with several of the top drivers competing this year at Belle Isle.
Motionsports artist Bill Patterson (www.billpatterson.com) will rev up the party, performing “live painting” featuring Grand Prix cars, drivers and our own Belle Isle Park. One lucky guest will have the chance to take a piece of the Prix home; Patterson will auction off his night’s painting to benefit the Belle Isle Conservancy.

On Friday, June 7, 2013, the Belle Isle Conservancy invites metro Detroiters to a special fundraiser at Pewabic Pottery from 6-9 pm. The evening supports BIC’s efforts to restore the Pewabic tiles to Belle Isle Park’s historic Scott Fountain.
Set up for their annual Pewabic Home and Garden Show, guests will enjoy light hors d’ oeuvres and wine while strolling and shopping Pewabic’s tent and store.
Special guest John Gallager, journalist and author of Revolution Detroit: Strategies for Urban Reinvention, will be on hand to talk about the city and autograph his books; books will be available for purchase.
In addition to ticket sale proceeds, all purchases made that evening will benefit the Scott Fountain Pewabic Tile Fund.
